A rather open ended question. I would recommend defining what activities you consider to be part of concurrent engineering. This will help narrow the field in terms of software solutions.

We see CE is a systematic approach to the integration of design, manufacture and related processes where all life cycle phases of the product are considered simultaneously.

Through this strategy we invisage lead-time decreasing, allowing the company to respond rapidly to changes in market trends or to incorporate new technologies.

In order to remain competitive and cope with increasing market pressure from mounting customer demands we feel it is essenatial to produce designs ‘right first time’ through the use of multi-functional design teams.

We currently use a number of different software packages, that are used at variuos stages of our work, and we are looking to see what is avalable for us to collate this information into one source?

A web search on Document Management Systems will bring up a wide variety of hits to start looking through. Another place to begin may be with a CAD vendor as often there are drawing control system packages they have available which can be extended into other documents.

We utilize an amalgamation of packages so I cannot advise on any "enterprise wide" system. In any case you will need to investigate the merits of various packages to see which meets your needs.

Pro/Engineer by PTC promoted that it is useful for design concurrent engineering. The system is run in a network, different computer could log on a workplace to do the design work for a component simultaneously.
