Hi,

I am currently trying to troubleshoot a model. The .dat file shows various errors in element number and when I tried to see the location for that particular element number, it is shown in two different parts in my model. What could have gone wrong that I see two different locations for a particular element number? Please let me know if the question is not clear.

Thanks.

Element numbers can repeat in different parts and instances but must be unique within single part, instance and assembly. If an element numer repeats in single analysis then something went really wrong. Try clearing mesh and building it from scratch for whole model. If it doesn't work then you can change that repeated number for one of these elements in INP file. Just search for it in *Element block. First number in the line is an element number.

Thank you so much FEA way. You helped me clear the confusion.
