I need help on the following issue:

I am creating several tubes in a large assembly. The tubes are defined by splines and the splines are defined by end points / tangency control, G3, the usual...
Now, I would like to move some endpoints as a result of changes made in the assembly. Since the splines represent existing hoses, I would like them to have a constant length.
Only change I'd like is the 3D orientation and position.

Is there a simple way to define the spline length as "fixed".
Like real life hoses, not compressable or strechable (is that english?).

If there's an elegant/convenient way to do this, it would be super helpful...

John,

I have a license for the electrical and mechanical routing module. I haven't figured out yet how to use these modelus regarding "constant length splines". Why not you ask?
Because the assembly is not just modelled by me but also at a sub contractor who has not the modules.
Of course I will check the routing apps (I am an engineer after all), but for now I am just wondering if there is any simple solution for my spline problem in de modeling module.
Because NX is so flexible (expressions, variables, rules, associativity, constraints,etc..I love working with NX) I would expect to find some hints (in NX that is) for a simple fixed (did I say constant?) length spline definition...

You might be able to do something with optimization, where after updating your assembly it could be run to redefine the spline based on getting it back to it's original length before the update.
