Hi all,
I have a problem that I hope someone can help with! i have a constant volume ac plant that serves an area that is to be partially renovated with a similar kind of fitout going in at the end. It is basicly being gutted and re-built while the rest of the floor is operational. What is the best way of dealing with this in your vast collective experiences?

Waramanga,

A little more information would be helpful - DX or chilled water cooling, type of heat, approximate percentage of renovated area relative to the system, etc.

Its chilled/hot water, roughly 2000m2 area with about 400m2 being renovated. Any other info that may help?

Is it a single air handler that is feeding the entire 4000 Sqm area ?

What's not clear is whether you mean water system or air system. A constant volume AC plant could mean AHUs (aka, AC units) or AC plant chilled water. If you mean air, you should determine the portion to be out of commission and re-sheave the supply and return fans during the process so as minimize airflow disruption to occupied areas. Any good air balancer with proper direction should be able to do this. If you mean water you might create a temporary bypass (would involve researching how the plant would be affected, minimum flow needs, etc.).
