Construction equipment surcharge Loads

I'm running a slope stability analysis for a stone causeway.

What surcharge load would be appropriate for a 40 ton dump truck? I'm looking at a spec sheet, and it looks like the total laden vehicle weight is 138 kips, with a footprint of 18.5' x 10.5'. That would get me to a 710 psf loading.

I've seen several references to using 250- 300 psf loading for construction equipment. I'm assuming this range is meant for small bulldozers, etc? Am I on target w/ a 710 psf loading?

Your input is correct. Just specify it as a strip load of 710 psf, 10.5 ft wide and xx ft away from the crest, for example. It would not be appropriate to say it is a uniform load.
 
Hey, it is not a strip load. Very unlikely to have the trucks nose to rear in a line.

I'd neglect any such loading, since it is temporary spot loading and if some slippage starts it would scram out immediately.

Your failure under spot loading is not a circle, but a part of a sphere. Does your analysis method take that into consideration?
