If anyone could lead me to information on design guidelines for housing developments in Angola, I'd be very much obliged. The company I represent wants to enter this market, but I'm unable to find information regarding wind loads and seismic loads carachteristic of that area.

Thanks for your help.

Angola is likely to have no seismic code as the region has little seismic activity . The only recorded tremors in the region are from areas near the African Rift Valley(Around Kenya in the east) which is far from Angola ( in the West of East/Central Africa). This is my inference from my knowledge of the region.

As for the standards, your starting point can be the South African Bearaeu of standarndards which have found acceptance in most of the Southern African Region with minor addendums relevant to the specific country.

Maybe check with Portuguese Consulting engineers who had offices there before independence. They will probably have more specific answers to your questions.
