I would like to learn about setting up contact problems in ANSYS Mechanical, using scripts. I have found an Alberta University tutorial ( unfortunately several of the commands or elements are no longer available in ANSYS 13.

Does anyone know of a newer version of this tutorial (or a similar one)?

Ok, I have modified the script to something that works.. and am now going through it to understand what each command does. As this was created graphically there are likely picking commands and others that are not the best starting point for script based investigation. If anyone is interested the file is attached, any help commenting it more thoroughly is much appreciated.

Attached is a slimmed down version of the above. This was achieved by removing commands that were not used in this problem (for example time or temperature commands, and commands that are only needed if the modelled system is three dimensional).

Comments have been added, a lot of them are trite if you know what the commands mean anyway, rather than explaining the full program and it's structure; as this is a tutorial it's appropriate to comment like this so others wanting to learn how the simulation is set up can follow the logic.

There are a few bits I do not understand, for example just before the system is solved a selection is made of all the nodes and elements, however nothing is applied to this selection but it is required for the script to run.
