Hi All,
i have an assembly thats bonded ,i would like to know wheather the stresses at the contacts can be are true?because bonded contacts normally tend to produce discontionous mesh at the joints.
I am using ansyswb

Hi,
IMO the bonded contact is an expedient to hold two pieces together when you don't want to simulate the connection in a more precise and reliable way. In fact, generally normal contact stresses are realistic but tangent contact stresses are not (or not as much).

ok,dou you have any sources where i can get more information on contact meshing and stresses.
 
The ANSYS contact technology guide would be a good place to start. Also, search on ansys.net for contact, the first result is a good article on different ways of connecting things and seeing how stresses are effected by the contact.
