Are Electric motors 400V, 3 Phase,2985 rpm, 120 HP , continuous duty, available in Grease Cooled. Or they are only available in Oil Cooled form.

Information needed.

Sounds like bearings rather than motors:

1 - Sealed-for-life
2 - Re-greasable
3 - White metal

I would not expect to see an oil-lubricated white metal bearing at this power level.

It could be oil cooled anti-friction bearings given the high speed. Is this a vertical motor ?

Thanks for the knowledge.
Well, it is a vertical motor. We have a centrifugal pump run by this type of motor. Presently it is a oil cooled motor. We want to change to grease cooled motor. One of motor supplier when approached said he can provide such motor with grease cooling in place of oil cooling. The oil cools SKF 7219 double face to face thrust bearing at fan end and SKF 6320 bearing at coupling end.

Ok , what will be the maximum unattended duration with grease cooling.

Thanks

I wouldn't change your present oil cooled to greased bearing given your set-up (vertical, high-speed).

If you buy a new motor with greased bearings, that is ok since the OEM would have designed the motor accordingly.

Thanks.

My question still , is a grease cooled motor of this specification available/ produced in industry.

The grease isn't a coolant. It is primarily a lubricant for the bearings. If you are asking for a 'grease cooled motor' you are probably confusing people. You are looking for greased bearings, either sealed-for-life or regreaseable.

Motors are almost always air cooled, either directly or using an internal air circuit to some form of heat exchanger.

Didn't you answer your question in your previous post ?
