Continuous beam formula in Italian. 1

Hi all,

Is any Italian-speaking engineer able to explain what the letters A1, B1 and A2,B2 represent in the attached diagram?
I can follow all the other headings but it's just those that fox me.

I don't speak Italian, but I don't think you've included enough information for this to matter. I would guess they mean the end reactions calculated as if there were two simple span beams instead of one contiuous one. You could check this against the standard formulas for continuous beams over stiff supports.

going from the formulas for the Ti's, looks like the A,B's are the simple span end reactions combined with the reactions caused by the interior moment, MI:
A1 = simple span reaction at the left end of the first span
B1 = simple span reaction at the right end of the first span
A2 = simple span reaction at the left end of the second span
B2 = simple span reaction at the right end of the second span

my copy (word by word translation in Italian) : "L'acciaio nelle costruzioni" - ediz. Cremonese - 1973 (out of print - few copies available on line)

Italian is the proper language for engineering. All educated people agree on that. ( paraphrasing from a fav movie of mine.)
