I know in the past I have been able to set my Microstation "preferences" to allow me to view the coordinates of the cursor. So as I scroll around any view, I can see the coordinates change continuously in the information area.

I now can't find the setting that allows me to do this. Everyone I ask says that AutoCAD lets you do that, but not Microstation.

Can anyone help me out?

I've tried these things so far with no luck:

Workspace -> preferences
Settings -> design file -> coordinate readout
Settings -> accudraw

Maybe I should just contact Bentley?

When I tried it, the coordinates weren't readily changing but they did register the new position of the cursor. Sorry not to be of more help.

hi,

Try this simple keyin.

" Set Coordinates on "

This will opena precision Keyin Box as it happened in
Version 4.

If you ever worked with ver 3.3 the same used to be displayed in the status bar.

The Accudraw also works but it may return relative points if you have set the floating origin ON u can check this from "Settings -> Accudraw" open.Uncheck this option to get drawing coordinates.

THe displays are very dynamic during placement or manipulation but a bit sluggish when you just navigate in the design plane.

Hope this helps

Thanks, JIGS, that does the trick nicely.
