I have an opportunity to produce continuous length molded strips of a TPE. A concept is in hand that appears it will work, however, before investing in technology, I'd like some feedback on existing methods you are using. Anyone care to comment and keep us from "reinventing the wheel"...

Thanks and God bless

If the part is continuous, I would recommend looking at extrusion. Do a search on the net and you will find many helpful companies. Good luck.

Depending on the design requirement, for a cheap way you may use pPVC extrusion process.

It cannot be extruded due to the profile

sluggo,

Hmmm...could you explain the profile? Does it continually change throughout the length? Keep in mind that there are secondary operations in the extrusion line that can add shapes and modify the contour of the extrusion that may give you what you need.

Good luck,

Picture a timing belt cut and laid open. You can't extrude this because of the teeth, however, we need to do this in contiuous lengths. therefore, contiuous molding...

In this case probably you need to do post extrusion process.
Could you e-mail me your profile design?

We have done some rubber parts like this where the ends of moulds were kept cool to prevent cuering and after process joining to get continued length .in this way we could get length of belt like job even 25 ft.long and even endless. it can be tried in your case
