This Post is regarding selection of control damper .
Duct pressure classification given as 2 inch w.g..
Usually control damper rated for the maximum pressure and maximum velocity, beyond which damper may not performed the indented purpose and hence the operating condition shall not exceed these limits. Duct pressure class is based on the maximum operating range i.e 1,2 ,3 inch W.G etc.
I need clarification on following
1. How much maximum operating pressure of the damper should be greater than duct pressure class.
2.maximum velocity will be occurs at discharge of the fan and hence we can consider the same velocity to compare face velocity.
3. Some manufacture rate the damper for temperature Range application. is there is any requirement from SMACNA or AMCA for air damper which being used in HVAC system
kindly provide some reference material/industry recommended practice used in HVAC .
Thank you
