Control joints in concrete wall

What are other folks doing with regards to control joints in reinforced concrete walls? Are they even needed due to reinforcement going both ways?

Recommended for you

Recommended joint spacing is dependent upon how much longitudinal reinforcing is in the wall. Also whether it is just a building or a liquid containment vessel.
 
And the degree of cracking that is acceptable.
