Does anyone familiar with the control valve with clamp connection on the body and bonnet?
I did some background study on this type of connection and found that the clamp type connection is better than conventional bolted type in term of smaller size, lighter, easy maintenance, withstand high bending moments/forces, etc.
The valve design accordance to ANSI 16.34 and ASME section VIII div 2, is a ANSI 1500 valve, however, client rejected the valve due to this clamp design and stick to bolted type.
The hub, clamp, seal ring, bolt/nuts was design and manufactured by reputation company.
Very much appreciated if any expert here have more information to share on this clamp design, and the disadvantage/ limitation of this design as well.
