Control valves opening/closing time

HI,

Should all control valves have opening/closing time specified in their datasheet? and what engineering document is the reference for opening and closing time of control valves ?

If the valve operation time is critical for operation, this info should be obtained from the Process Engineer, and specified in the control valve data sheet. And then, the vendor may propose a proper device with the control valve to meet this requirement.

I agree with mk3223. This requirement if any is mentioned by the process engineer. Normally, we don't find such requirements for control valves because opening/closing times of standard valves are much faster than the usual controller response times. However, such requirements are very common for safety / on-off valves where such valves are used to achieve some safety functions such as closing the inlet valve or opening the blowdown valve to prevent overpressurization.
