Does anyone have a simple method of converting a LIDAR file, typically a *.las file into a file that can be loaded in AutoCAD?

AutoCAD generally maintains exclusivity with their file format, in both directions. Have they changed that stance with the Cloud? The Cloud supposed to enhance interoperability.

Peter... I'll check to see if someone in the office has access to this program; we likely do.

Thanks, Dik

We use Global Mapper for a lot of our point cloud conversions (to xyz, dxf, dwg, etc.) as well as aerial imagery and .shp files. The cost is more reasonable than Civil 3D if you do not already have the software. Depending on the file size, I have not had much luck with AutoCAD handling LiDAR files. Microstation has given much better results.

Thanks, TLines... will pass this on to IT dept for future info...
