Hi,

I'm fairly new to lighting design. I have an unhelpful boss, who can't seem to help me in anything. Anyway, I'm writing this to ask for help on the conversion of photometric data into IES format? Any suggestions on how to convert or what literature to read up on will be appreciated.

Thanks

Are you testing fixtures? The IES style photometric report format is utilized by most fixure manufacturers in the US to publish their fixture's photometric performance characteristics. But I am confused as to what you mean as to "converting" your data. What data are you starting with? Are you starting with illuminance data? Do you have a testing chamber to provide raw data? Do you have a photometric report in a different format?

I am just not clear as to what it is you wish to convert.

Sorry I can't be of more help. A little more information is needed.

Regards,
EEJaime

Hi all,

Sorry for not being clear. My company makes commercial lighting fixtures and we do have our own photometric testing rig, which is a rotating mirror goniophotometer type of rig. The data comes in raw form. I'm trying to learn how to convert this data into IES format. The raw data is in PRN format and we normally have bare lamp test and fitting test results. I'm just trying to join the dots but finding it difficult with no help at all.

Thanks for your time.

Regards
