There is no downward migration tool for this. You could save it to another format then import back to R14

Can "DownwardCompatibility" utility be used to convert the CATDrawing files from R16 to R14. (Tools/ Utility/ Batch Monitor/ DownwardCompatibility)?

you can use the catback utility within catia under tools>utilities>downwardcompatibility but it is highly suggested that you only do this on basic parts. any advanced surfaces may change as with any translation. basically the math between versions is getting more efficient when you go backwards it has to recompute the math within the part and it may get different results. always check your models after a downward migration.

Thank you for both of you for the answers.

Proczak,
Do you refer to the 3D data? Basically, I need to convert the drawings (CATDrawing files)from R16 to R14. The 3D is fine.

Like I said, no downward tools available for this. Here is the message if you try:

Document needs to be converted
WARNING : PartBody is empty (no solid), no conversion

This utility converts the Partbody solid only with the result being a dumb solid.

a side note - if you need to convert a drawing, you need to convert the parts/assembly generated that drawing.

if you only want to read the file in r14 then save it to CGM.. or HPGL.
