I have a small number of HPGL files that I need to edit and save as a CATDrawing. Does anyone know of a free and effective way of converting these file in to a format that I can open ie DXF?

Have you tried to open it with Catia?? Just checked "file open" and there is HPGL in the file type list.

Hi Azrael

Yes I have opened them in Catia but they can't be modified or saved as anything ells that can.

i guess you have to get an empty drawing then do Tools / Import from file then get the GL2 file... (you might have to rename your file to match the type)

Thank you itsmyjob.

This works well enough to save it as a CATDrawing unfortunately it does not recognise the text as text but I can live with that thanks.
