i've searched and found nothing on this.

i have catia 5 rel 16

i want to convert a model file to use in solidworks or mastercamx2.

normally i right click "sheet" (in drawing)
...copy...file...new...drawing(ok)...iso(ok)
screen is "paper/grid" now...paste into sheet1 (in tree)

then i save as igs and import into sw or mcam.

this is not working on my present model file (from customer)
(there is no sheet)

any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
ken

You are talking about model... is the file a .model (v4) ?

IF you open the .model file in V5, then when you double-click the tree you should see some structure.

If you do not see any sheet (2D geometry), contact however gave you the file....

Ken, it sounds like the .model file contains 3D geometry only and there is no 2D drawing data that would end up in the V5 sheet. NO, it's not corrupt. It's probably just all 3D surfaces/solids.

As Eric suggested, you can verify exactly what the .model file is by opening it up in V5. I do see a DRAFT tab in your screen shot, so there might be drawing info there.

Also, as Eric suggested, you probably want to contact your customer and have them resend you a .model file containing a drawing

(a little background)i am a catia novice. i use solidworks & mastercam daily.
i have 2 customers that deal only with catia thus they send
me native catia.....i convert for sw or mc.

would a license error be the problem?

i rec this error when starting catia.
[nodelocked or concurrent license form di-tmp28ud (2118) has expired]

would this be the problem?

to all....thanks for help so far.

yes it looks like your license is over. Call IBM or your business partner to get a new one...
