Recommended for you

Adobe Acrobat - Full version.

CutePDF writer Can "print" anything to a PDF. Google it for a free download. This works well, as I have used it at 2 companies now.

Also, for those who do not have AutoCAD, I recommend you Google "Free DWG viewer" and download Trueview from AutoDesk for free. This along with the Cute PDF writer will allow anyone to make a PDF from a cad dwg.

You can also use PDF995 for a free pdf creator.

What you should understand is that you do not save files as a pdf, you print them to pdf. A pdf file is something like an electronic printer that creates an electronic file of something just as it would appear on a hard copy that you print normally. Whatever pdf creator program you use will install a printer driver that you select when you print your document, just as you would for any other printer.

TDAA,

I recently downloaded a free viewer from Autodesk and it was called "Brava". It can view .dwf files but I'm not sure about .dwg files. You may need two different viewers to view both.

good luck

TrueView will view both. It is limited in some of the mark up, etc. abilities, as they would rather have you buy one of the other versions.

Actually, when it was released in Oct '05 (approx), they did not announce it. Word was slipped out on an employee blog. Likely the only reason it was offered was to compete with the free viewers offered by the competition.

I needed the DWG capability to review usable files, prior to passing to the draftsman, as well as a vriety of other reasons.

The Trueview offers support for AutoCAD Version 2 through the 2007 version.

I was in Staples yesterday and they are advertizing a free program to make pdf files from any application. I have not tried it but...

Depending on your version of AutoCAD, you may find there is an option that allows you to plot to a pdf (the pdf maker appears in the plotter list when you go through the plot procedure). I have found this to be the best way to convert a file.
