can anyone give me an example of how to setup a formula in catia to convert kilograms to pounds. i want to show both units on a drawing and i want them to automatically update when the part changes size. and the secondary unit (pounds) doesn't necessarily have to show "lb" i can add that as text in my notes.
thanks for any help in advance.

You need to have the starting Mass parameter somewhere on the 3D model, so I guess that you have that one covered with Inertia feature or other formulas. Go to drafting and create a MASS parameter and link it to the MASS parameter on the 3D model. Create a parameter in Drafting of REAL type (if we use MASS then we will get the unit and we don't want that here), add formula, pick the mass parameter with kg and multiply with the conversion factor 2.2. Use the TEXT feature and place it somewhere on the drawing while the input window is open right click on the dotted green frame in graphical window and choose ATTRIBUTE LINK, the the right parameter tha you will see in the tree. An ATTRIBUTE LINK PANEL will open, pick the attribute MASS and hit apply. Go to the text editor and go to next line and again go right click on the dotted green frame to add the REAL parameter, in the text editor you can add the unit manually.

Hope it helps

Thanks Azrael, worked like a charm. i didn't think it would work when the homogenous warning came up but it did. i tried using the long round function with it but for some reason it kept telling me that "lb" was not a valid unit, but i was able to use the short round function to shrink the value since its only for reference on my drawing.
