Hi,

I currently investigating automating a 3km conveyor for coal overseas. The project will be designed in Australia. I am keen to find out the appropriate safety standards AS61508, AS61511, AS4024 etc...that I need to use and why. As I am new to these standards i would appreciate any guidance.

If its installed overseas I'd expect the overseas standards to be more applicable, though if its to be installed in an IEC area, I believe that the standards you've referenced have an IEC equivalent which makes things somewhat easier.

However, should you be in Queensland there may be a few more onerous requirements regarding engineering approvals even though the project is destined for overseas, given that QLD is the only state that has a government sanctioned Board of Engineers.
