Hello everyone,

I recently received a batch of SA-182 F316L stainless steel flanges at my company. Upon reviewing the Material Test Reports (MTRs), I noticed that these flanges contain copper, which is not typically listed as a standard element in the chemical composition for F316L according to ASME BPVC Section II.A.

My questions are:

Has anyone else encountered F316L flanges with copper content? If so, was this considered acceptable under ASME standards or did it raise compliance concerns?
Could the presence of copper affect the performance of these flanges, particularly in high-temperature or corrosive environments, which F316L is usually designed to withstand?
Is this a known issue with certain suppliers or manufacturers, and how have others in the industry handled similar situations?
I would appreciate any insights or experiences you can share regarding this issue. I want to ensure that the materials we use fully comply with ASME standards and do not compromise the safety or integrity of our systems.

Thank you!
