Hello
I would like to know the best way to copy a finished piece and broke the relationships with his father.
Unfortunately I still have a CATIA methodolgy...snif snif....
Thanks in advance for your support¡

Does the Part file already have links to parent geometry in another Part file? If so, you can just select and manually break the links and then do a Save-As.

If the links are to objects in the same Part file, you can do a...

File -> Export -> Part...

...and select the 'Remove Parameters' option and then select the geometry that you wish to keep. Note that this will result in a new Part file but the model will be 'dumb' (no features or parameters) since there is no way to have a partially parametric model (the links are features and they can't be broken without deleting the entire feature structure).

First of all, thanks a lot for your promptly reply¡
I would like to know, in order to clarify absolutely my question, try again my question:

Nowadays I am working in a big fixture and in order to design it as fast as posible in the cases of a very similar pieces
in Catia exists the option " copy paste special break links". With this option I am able to make a new piece from an existent
piece but breaking the links allowing change its numbering, sketches...
So in NX,The best way is just select and manually break the links and then do a Save-As.?

As you can see this is my first Project developed enterily in NX....

i AM LOOKING FORWARD FOR YOUR WORDS.

There has been a lot of talk lately about copy and paste--I find this method very fast and easy
Right click component you want to copy, click move, turn on copy, drag it to where you want it---done
If you want to be dumb---remove parameters
If you want it to be a new component to modify, make unique and modify

Just my input

Thanks

Hello
In the most of cases my option would be:

If you want it to be a new component to modify, make unique and modify;

Please could you explain me step by step how could I "make unique and modify" a component?

Thanks a lot in advance for all your support¡

Right click on your component
Click Move
Under the Copy section set mode to copy
Under transform set to dynamic
grab a handle on the WCS that is on your component and drag over (this creates your copy)
Click Apply

Now right click on component
Click make unique
a dialog box will pop up, put your new name in here
make sure directory is right
click OK

Now you have a separate copy you can modify and not affect the other component

Hello

First of all, thanks a lot for your support¡
I followed your instructions and it worked almost 100% but I have a problem.
Nowadays I am working in a project to Daimler and consequently I must work under Daimler enviroment in NX...
So once I make the copy Daimler gives a special numbering called "ET" in the nomenclature box, please check the image attached.
Apparently, both ET numberings from each part ( original part and the copy) are differents but when I make a save management
the part copied has the same ET numbering of the father...
Unfortunately I am not able to fix this issue because even when I tried to modify "by hand" this numbering in the save management options box
this Et number did not change..

Please, If there is someone with experience working with Daimler environment i would be grateful if could give a hand in this issue....
