Dear eng-tips pro.

I would like to copy the row of number from excel to
word table. For example, I have 100 different number in
100 cell in excel and copy to 90 cell in word's table.
It seems word can't work properly, cause the left 10 cell
in word will have repeated value.(please see the attached post)

Could you please help me out for this trivial?

thank you so much.

When I select all 100 cells in Excel, copy, then select all 90 cells in the Word table and paste, I get the first 90 value from Excel in the Word table. No repeats. I assume this is what you want - you can't get all 100 values in 90 cells of the Word table.

Just copy whatever number of cells out of Excel and paste into any empty space - not an existing table - in Word.

Poof!

Word will create a table of exactly the same size all by itself.

You need to copy the same number of cells into the table. You can't copy 100 cells into a table with 90 cells.

Your post seemed to confuse rows and columns. In your post you talk about a row of numbers, but your post shows a column of numbers.

Do you need to transpose from column to row or vice versa?

koba78 helps us out here. Please respond. I have read this a couple of times and I'm wondering if you have posted a brain teaser. Copy 100 and paste in 90... umm I'm stumped and would love to know the conclusion to this.
