I created surfaces in one model, grouped them and all supporting geometry, exported to a NEU file, and read into another model. But they get deleted during import b/c they're not attached to a solid. Has anyone worked around this yet?
The only way I've found to get them to import is to use Geometry...Solid...Extrude with thickness of 1E-15 on each one. But the downside to doing this is:
1) tedious, since the command has to be run one surface at a time.
2) surface attributes and curve mesh sizes are lost.
3) the rest of the model that they're getting merged into is all surfaces, and it would be nice to have consistent geometry types.
Is there a way to turn off the automatic deleting, or to trick it by editing the NEU file. I'm going to look now at adding a fake invalid solid that references all of the disconnected surfaces, just to sneak them past the importer.
Thanks for any help.
