does coring 6 inch concrete slab through rebar affect the structural integrity of the slab?

Yes, obviously, though the degree and importance of the structural integrity degradation will depend on the core size and location and the specific loading and structural arrangement. Not all rebars will be 100% stressed along their full length so some potential core locations will have a trivial adverse effect.
