Dear all,
In one of our plants we have noticed internal preferential corrosion in the CS welds mainly due to wrong filler material used during the welding process. The driver for corrosion mechanism is wet CO2 gas. We are planning to replace the pipework with a suitable weld metallurgy and correct welding procedure. As a due diligent approach we would like to do some corrosion test on the weld specimen to ensure that the weld metallurgy is resistant to preferential corrosion. Can you suggest any relevant ASTM standard for such tests to be carried out on CS weld sample?
Thanks
