Hi all,

The problem with corrosive sulfur in the oil, especially in Power Transformers and Reactors is known.
Do you have any expierence with it? Maybe problems?

Regards,
Peter

I did some research on the subject last summer, I will try to dig up the paper I wrote and post it later. Most of the documented problems were in very warm climates with oil from a specific time period. Lance Lewand at Doble has also published some articles and knows alot more about the subject than I do. Here is a link to doble on the subject.

Zogzog,

This is not exactly as you wrote. I agree with specific time period but I've heard about transformer failure because of corrosive sulfur in Norway..

I'm from Poland. We are also trying to do some research in our units. We suppose we have problem with several units.
That's I'm looking for some more information.

Peter

I said MOST of the documented failures, not all.

I have hands on experience on this problem and studying the reports from all over the world on this issue since it was first reportd. I know about problem in Norway, but not anything fronm Poland. If you say exacly what you want to know, probably, I can throw some light.
