Dear all,

Is there anybody who has some reliable sources or who could tell me more about "corrosivity of fresh water saturated with O2" ? All types of information will be welcome, close or open loop, any type of material ...

Thanks, I've already read the 3 first ones but going to read the last. The major "problem" is that it does not speak specifically of oil and gas field.
 
Use Section 2.B.11 of API 581 to calculate corrosion rates in oxygenated waters in open or closed system. The equation to calculate CR as per API 581 is:

CR = CRB x FT x FV where CRB is the Base Corrosion Rate, FT is the Temperature Adjustment Factor and FV is the Flow Velocity Adjustment Factor

There is a very good and detailed explanation on how to get the above values. I have used this equation in the past to carry out corrosion calculations for oxygenated water which were approved by the Client.

Why are you asking about "close (sic) or open loop" and then oil and gas field - the two are not usually integrated. What is the specific application? For an oilfield water injection system, a corrosion model that is more appropriate would be Andijani & Turgoose

The model applies to metal loss of carbon steel. You also ask about "any type of material" - oxygen with corrosion resistant alloys brings about an increased likelihood of pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.

I'm currently studying the influence of oxygen in different kinds of environment in oil and gas industry : in the case of an oxygen entry into "wet" gaseous phase flow, oil/water flow and in the case of process utilities (in particular the ones with fresh water involved).

Concerning fresh water systems, the data I am looking for are graph or formulas which could directly lead to calculation of the corrosion rate in function of dissolved oxygen content, temperature, oxygen partial pressure, total dissolved solids ... Does it exist ?

Then I've read about the effects of oxygen entry on corrosion mechanisms but I would like to have a value to "set" a limit of how much oxygen is allowable in the systems. That is a really general study but I need some particular values to have a reference.

At the moment data on carbon steel would be more than welcome, then if you have anything else about different materials, feel free to mention it.

Unfortunately I can not access the documents you mentioned but I keep on going.
