hello Everyone,

I have been set the task to calculate the pressure drop down a 3ft length of stainless steel corrugated hose for steam. Does anyone know any sources to enable me to calculate the pressure drop. I have obtained several data sheets from corrugated hose manufacturers, but I would also like to carry out a hand calculation to compare the results. I have got a Metal Hoses manual by Witzenmann but the graphs are not very accurate when reading of values. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

Simon

Hi Simon

try the following web page
It gives pressure drop in corrugateed metal hoses for air and for water

Also have a look at thread378-101803 which is mainly about pressure drop across expansion joints but also gives other references including convoluted metal hose.
