Cosmetic Thread Notes

Hello,

In reference to the 14 year old thread: thread554-33861

Sadly this issue still exists. Does anyone know how to change the decimal places in the embedded note that is created with cosmetic threads? (my work-around solution at the moment is to create a UDF with a cosmetic thread and a note feature)

And a side question is how to attach a GTOL to this note?

The "best" solution (AFAIK) to customizing the callouts for thread notes is to edit your hole table (while you are in there, you can fix all of the other problems that PTC has with the tables). There is an entire section of the Creo help documents dedicated to this, as well as several threads on the PTC Community forums.
That said, as far as I have been able to tell, there is nothing that can be done to customize the note generated for EXTERNAL cosmetic threads (to make matters worse, this defaults to a class 6H on metric external threads).
As to your question on how to attach GTOL to the note: that really depends on how you create your GTOL to being with (generate in the drawing, manually create in a note, create in an annotation feature in the model, create as an annotation element in the model) and where you want the linking to exist (in the model or in the drawing).

I've since been able to make a nice looking note for the cosmetic thread and attach a GTOL in it using this:

M&MAJOR_DIAMETER:att_feat[.0] x &PITCH:att_feat[.2] - &CLASS:att_feat
&g4

this creates a note like M24 X 2.00 - 6g

However, I'm not happy with cosmetic threads for a different reason now. The same one mentioned here:

ie the confusing vertical lines that are added in drawings and whose line font cannot be changed and they are persistent in section views.
