Hi,
I have been using both SolidWorks and WF4 to model static models.
But i will need to perfoms some Stress analysis, more specifically i will need to model the stresses endured by a helmet during a:
-full on collision
-a rotational collision about the vertical axis
-a rotational collision about the horizontally axis

I have used Cosmos Express in the past, but only on beams and simple structures.

Would these simulation be hard to setup?
Are there some quality Literature or Videos of Cosmos Tutorial?
Would Proe be a wiser choice?

Much Obliged!

I was I figured material constante would be our initial set up.

As it turns out, for the first phase of this project we will need to place accelerometers in the helmet and evaluate the nature of the impact ( vector force + rotation )

I would surprised if it was but, would it be possible to deliver a vector force on the helmet, which is restrained by the heads dampering force, and have virtual accelerometers output what they picked up.

This would allow us to verify the algorithm, and perhaps help optimise the location of the sensors.

I have modeled helmet impact in the past and kellnerp is right on.

Get some good material properties together and then contact Abaqus. They will probably do a demo case for you with your materials and geometry.

There is also a group in Canada that does this work as consulting. I can't find the link now though.

I hope this helps.
