Dear colleagues,

in several places I have found that flange manufacturers offer socket weld flanges made in DIN standard. I went through DIN standard and couldn't find socket weld flange. It seems to me that socket weld is available only in ANSI (ASME), but not in DIN, although it is obvious that such adaptation could easily be done.

Is it common practice to order DIN flanges in socket weld variation?

Does "socket weld" mean that the flange is welded to a pipe? If so, of course there are several DIN standards (DIN 2633, 2635, 2636....). Now it is DIN EN 1092 but the contents is 99 % the same as before.

Dear micalbrch,
socket weld flange is special type of flange. I attached schematics of flange types to avoid misunderstanding.

I think they mostly use the flat welding flanges in DIN lines accc. std. DIN2573 (pn6) DIN2576 (pn10) etc.
Maybe there are new EN standards too.
