Hi all,

I was wondering is there a way to determine the bearing capacity of a soil from a CPT result? Is there any textbook or code which enables you to determine this?

Or is there is a way converting a CPT result to a SPT value?

Msny Thanks

A rough correlation for clays is that qc = 140 N
For sands use qc = 500 N

N = SPT count
qc is the CPT cone resistance and is in kPa
