I've noticed that while I'm simulation complex motion simulations with 3d contact, springs and so on the computer take several minutes to calculate it; however the CPU used during the calculations is about 15-20% (20-25 with all the computer tasks).. so I suppose that if I would use more CPU the time will decrease.. is it normal? can I find/modify something to get it?

In other cases, for instance, while is rendering, the use of the CPU is 100%.

My computer is an MSI ge62 with i7 4720hq - gtx970m - 16gb ram - ssd+hd.

Thanks in advance

My guess is that either the program isn't optimized to use multiple threads or the nature of the problem itself doesn't easily allow for parallel computations. In either case, there isn't much that you can do about it.
