For CPVC piping, in NFPA 13 2013 which allows cumulative sprinkler hanger distances, I can't find a maximum unsupported length.
"9.2.3.2.5* A single section of pipe shall not require a hanger when the cumulative distance
between hangers on the branch line does not exceed the spacing required by Table 9.2.2.1(a)
and Table 9.2.2.1(b)."
In the blazemaster listing (for example) I see a section about vertical support of sprinkler piping - the vertical support can be on two sides of every sprinkler/sprinkler drop or directly before a sprinkler/sprinkler drop. The dimensions given for "one support" is 1'-0 for 1" CPVC, for example.
I'm trying to determine three things:
1. Can this "vertical support", if it's something like a standoff hanger, be counted as a support not only against upward thrust, but also as a pipe hanger (keeping it suspended when sprinkler is not active) itself. I suspect the answer is yes so my next questions are:
2. If you have a 1" blazemaster CPVC pipe going to a sprinkler, what is the maximum distance the centerline of the sprinkler can be from the nearest hanger.
3. Can the hanger be on the CPVC cross main?
I've read the listing/NFPA 13 2013, just want to verify I'm interpreting it right.
