Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me out!
I know 2016 NFPA 13 requires seismic bracing on sprinkler mains with very little chance of omission, but when it comes to CPVC piping I have a tough time agreeing with this when it comes to 1" and 3/4" pipe when the pipe is attached directly to the structure with a "stand-off" / "no block" hanger. If anyone has been able to omit the seismic bracing for small CPVC pipe and could point me in the right direction for any kind of omission I would appreciate it!

If Cp is >0.5 you are going to provide bracing. Regardless, you will be providing longitudinal bracing as that can't be omitted. But there is no longitudinal bracing for CPVC so you have to do a short arm over and put a lateral brace to act as longitudinal.

If Cp is <0.5 then you can omit since you are <6" from top of pipe to point of attachment to structure. At least using those hangers you can omit branch line restraint regardless of Cp.
