Crack closure in XFEM

Dear all,

I want to model crack closure in Abaqus 6.12-3 when the crack is modeled with XFEM. So, I specified the contact properties for the crack faces (tangential dir.:frictionless, normal dir.:"hard" contact) and used the direct method as the contact constraint enforcement method. However, the contact is not simulated correctly and the results still show that the two crack faces overlap. Would you please let me know how can I correctly model the contact problem in XFEM? Thank you.
