crack growth in abaqus

Hi
I am trying to model crack growth by varying energy release rate w.r.t crack length. I tried doing by using field variable option in abaqus, but could not get the results. I request you all to suggest any method, which can help in modelling the variation.

Are you using XFEM?

 

[FEA way]

You can define varying energy release rate in the analysis with VCCT criterion. However it’s not possible in Abaqus/CAE - you must use Keyword Editor or edit INP file directly:

*Fracture Criterion, Type=VCCT, Nodal Energy Rate
*Nodal Energy Rate
