CREATE A DRAWING FOR RAW STOCK

What would be a good drawing style to use when taking raw stock and creating part numbers to cut from that drawing. ok example , we are using a ton of din rail, we want them cut a certain way and only be cut into .5" different lengths . so we created an internal number for the cut items with a list of what the part numbers will be after they are modified up to 3ft long. what is the proper drawing name or style. we are calling it an item drawing , but it also has vendor information on it for approved vendors. We are modifing it in house to stock on our shelves.
we have a variance of opinions in the office but no one can say yes that is the one we should use. any help would be very grateful.
