Hi all,

I need to create a several hundred ITEMS in TC so that I can pass part numbers to a external office.

I don't need them to have any datasets, just an ITEM & ITEM REVISION.

The ITEM ID's are automatically generated (off the clock) in TC

Does anybody know any tools or tricks to do this (non - admin)........ i really don't want to have to manually create 100's of parts via file new in NX or TC.

NX1973 / TC 12

Thanks in advance.

Just an update.......

After trying various TC utilities (which our admin team have blocked!!!!) i used UGClone in the NX binaries.

I made it a little slicker by creating a batch file which would loop a specified number of times to clone a part which i created in advance. Then just left it to run over a weekend.

i used the -s option to give me a log file for each clone operation. I could not find a way of repeating inside of the single command / ugclone action, so it logged in and out several hundred times.... i bet someone is about to tell me how to keep it logged in now :)

Hi, as per the original post really. For us the ITEM ID is the part number which is auto generated from a configured number clock. So if working with an external supplier (no access to our instance of TC) then we need to provide a large number of ITEM's up front.

Cheers,
