Create a new Gesture Wheel

Gestures have helped speed up a lot of what I do in SolidWorks. So mush so, that I would like to create more of them.

I would like to be able to create new gesture wheels that I could make active with a hot key. Then I could have two or more gesture wheels for drawings, assemblies, etc.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Not yet, but if your on Subscription, you should turn it in as an Enhancement Request. I am not a fan of Mouse gestures myself, but I know a lot of people are. Problem with being a veteran in Solidworks I suppose.

I also don't use Mouse gestures. Tried it, it seems to slow me down. It's just me...

It does appear to be a habbit thing. I'm a long time user of both SW and NX and as some may not know... mouse gestures have been in NX for quite some time and so i'm quite used to using them (even in limited forms for just a few commands). And they are VERY handy. They can remove some basic super repetitive command executions by simply converting them into a mouse 'swipe'!

A friendly suggestion - To get used to them a bit more, i'd suggest simply assigning a couple of basic commands to one direction (ha!) and getting used to that for as long as it takes. e.g. set the most natural direction to "Select" in all of the modes (prt/asm/drw). This saves my ESC key from getting pumbled all day, and quite a bit of arm movement.

If they slow you down.... you're doing something wrong.

If SolidWorks allowed them or even it's basic Options to be reconfigured w/o restarting SolidWorks then They'd be nice. I'm trying to see if loading in a .reg export of the saved portion of the gestures commands will allow this if not Maybe SolidWorks developers can. A long time ago in a world ruled by UNIX Pro/ENGINEER had the ability to swap users options within session and do so without having to shut down and run a bunch of RegAsm to read an entire registry when only a few lines were being modified.

Tools Customize File > Save Settings, File Load Settings.
If you could save out the Gestures to a multi use format it would be great if not I know some programmers who can...

The Best Mouse Gesture of all time is to get and use a 3dMotion Controller. You can change a world of spin,pan,zoom or do with mouse. Into a non stop orient while doing commands simultaneously with mouse.

I am sure its probably controlled some where in the registry like all the System and Doc options are. There is away to find this using Process monitor, which is how I found all the system options inside of Solidworks. Its time consuming to say the least but if its some thing you want to do it can be found I am sure.
