Create virtual studio macros instead of CATIA visual basic 1

Hello everybody,

Latelly i have heard a lot of creating macros and automation for CATIA, using virtual studio. I would like to know the main advantages of it, compared to the macros and automation of using the visual basic inside catia.

in terms of language, is it much diferente from the one used in visual basic inside catia?

Visual Studio is a development environment. It's much more robust and complex than the standard VBA Editor in CATIA.

How do mean more robust and complex? I don't know much of automation, I'm trying to learn it. Is it more powerful than the vba editor that comes with CATIA?
Can you give me any example of what can i do with visual studio, and I can't with CATIA VBA?

Here you can find an article about differences between vba and vb.net . All of them are also applicable when you do something for CATIA.
