Hello, I am running NX 6.0 and trying to create a break-out section in Drafting and not succeeding after my own attempts and reviewing the internet info concerning the subject.
The process I am following is :
1. Select view where the breakout section will be shown.
2. Define Base Point(where the section will be centered around).
3A. Define the Extrusion Vector, pointing into the body, I've tried reversing but no success in creating the breakout section.
3B. Middle Mouse Button to select Curves.
4. I created a spline curve, fit thru points previously defined, that is not selectable.

Can anyone inform me what I am doing incorrectly? I am brushing up on the drafting tasks for a job interview this coming Monday, March 4, 2013!

HELP!
Best regards

Hi,
For creating the curve (which you require as a break-out section curve)...right click the view and use EXPAND mode.Create the required curves (make sure the curve toolbar is open)for creating the section and come out of the EXPAND view (by right clicking the view and selecting EXPAND again).
Now follow the same process you followed earlier.Things have changed after NX6 (i am on NX8.5 now and so cannot check it on NX6 but as far as i remember this will work.I could not recollect if Break-out section supported drafting sKetch curves for sectioning in NX6so do check it once before following the EXPAND mode method)though and now you can very well utilize sketch curves for Break-out section.
All the best.
Best Regards
