Creating alternate position of parts in an assembly

Quite new (2-3weeks) to Inventor. Previously using Solidworks... How do you create alternate positions
of parts in an assembly? For example a cylinder actuating
a linear guide at retract and forward position. Would also like to know how can one show these alternate positions in an (idw) as phantom lines?

Well I'm stuck in Inventor 4, begging and pleading my bosses for an upgrade, but when I need to do this there are two options I've found:

Option 1:
Make a new presentation file. In the presentation file make two identical views of the assembly file. Leave the first view alone (call this the first position). Go to view two and create "tweak". Tweak will allow you to move yout parts to position two (you'll have to play around with tweak for a while to get the hang of it). Make a drawing and insert view1 and view2 side by side.

Option 2:
In the drawing, insert a view of the assembly with the first position shown. Select the view and right click. Then select sketch. Draw a few lines to indicate where position two is. If you want to make the lines phantom, select them and go to the drop down box in the tool bar and selct phantom line. Exit the sketch.

Now this is the only way I've found to do it, but it works for me. Again I'm stuck in the dinosaur era with inventor 4 so if you have a newer version, there may be a better way.
