I have a shaft designed. I need to indicate markings on the shaft that will be in color. One of the markings needs to run the length of the shaft, on top of the shaft. The others need to be wrapped around the shaft and spaced some distance apart.
To create the top marker, I used a split surface, but this creates a split on the top and bottom of the shaft.
For the side markings I used and extrusion and a linear pattern. This is not good, because there should not be any thickness to the shaft.
Is there an easier or better way to accomplish this?
I attached an image of what I have currently. Again, I need there to be no thickness off of the shaft for the green bands.
