I have created 2 gears with 'Spur Gears Component Generator'. How do I create the next gear in the gear train? (compatible with gear #2)

If 3rd is same as 1 or 2 simply drag another instance into assembly.
If 3rd is different than 1 or 2 create a second set adn delete the unneeded gear.

3rd is different from 1 and 2.

My problem is that I dont know how to make use of the automated compatibility in the design (via the Spur Gears Component Generator) for the 3rd gear.

Make the 3rd using info from the second (pitch for mating gears must be the same).
I would go ahead and leave this as a Design Accelerator assembly if you might have a need to go back and change.
Grab one of the gears from the second assembly and place into the original assembly with appropriate assembly constraints. Should be trivially easy.
Post your files and requirements here if you can't figure it out.

trivial in that - if you can create 2 gears - surely you can create 4. Not sure what the problem is?
